First Assembly of God of Clanton

Sunday School Classes

Sunday School Director - Donna Fraser

Donna has worked with the Sunday School ministry at First Assembly for over 20 years. She is not a native of Clanton but after moving here in 1987 with her husband, Glenn and two children, Wesley and Whitney, it has truly become home.

As an Auburn graduate with a degree in education, she enjoys working with children of all ages and the amazing staff at First Assembly. She is employed by the Chilton County School system and currently serves as the Resource teacher at  LeCroy Career Technical Center.

Donna believes that the small group setting of Sunday School provides wonderful opportunities to improve Biblical knowledge, spiritual growth, build meaningful relationships, serve and minister, and also provides a place for your entire family from nursery age to senior adults. So come join us – 9:30am every Sunday morning.

Class: Toddlers & Twos -Teacher: Carolyn Mims & Carol Dedman

The Toddlers & Twos Sunday School class welcomes your baby, from birth to 2 years of age. Our nursery ministry is more than a place of babysitting. Your child will not only receive quality care and attention by our loving, skilled staff, but will also learn about Jesus in a warm, caring environment with lessons that are designed specifically for their age level. They will learn to be Christ-like at every opportunity by sharing, forgiving, and learning self control. They will begin learning how to pray and worship God through singing. We believe in planting the Word of God into the hearts of every child that comes through the doors, starting with the babies!

Class: Preschool-Teacher: Jan Pannell

The Preschool Sunday School class is for children ages 3 & 4 year olds. Each week, they will learn Bible stories that teach them biblical principles at their age level. The children enjoy making a craft each week that reinforces the lesson. They also enjoy a light snack and stickers. We would love to have your children in our class.

Class: Kindergarten-Teacher: Debbie Cunningham

The Kindergarten class has lots of fun. We like to actively learn so we often play games, hold contest, and sometimes investigate our lessons. We try to learn everything about the story from the historical setting to the clothes they would have worn "back then". We've got a little bit of everything. The only thing we're missing is YOU!

Class: Primary-Teacher: Tootie Empson

The Primary Class is for students in 1st & 2nd grades. We believe Sunday School can be a fun and exciting "hands on" experience. The students are taught to trust the Lord and allow Him to guide them. We show them how Jesus will take care of His people as they allow Him into their hearts. Students make wonderful friendships as they work together on class projects while learning to worship the Lord. Won't you come join us?

Class: Middler-Teacher:Kenny & Rebekah Headley

The Middler Class is for students in the 3rd and 4th grades. We always begin our class by praying for our friends, family, and ourselves. We also like to share our praise reports. We learn about how God, His son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit work in our lives. We would love to have you join us.

Class: Junior Bible Quiz-Teachers: Steve and Julie Brown

Junior Bible Quiz was created to help children develop a love for the Bible and an understanding that its truth can guide their daily lives. It offers a fun, exciting way to motivate children to understand the all-important truths in God's Word. Junior Bible Quiz is for children ages 6 -12 years old. Beginning in the fall each year, we meet with other A/G churches in the state of Alabama for tournaments. We currently have 8 members on our team.

Class: Pre-Teen & Young Teen- Teachers: Tim & Amy Porter

We are an energetic class that has fun while learning what the Bible instructs us on everyday issues. We discuss topics about  what teens in today's society are dealing with daily. We learn the way that God would have us handle issues that teens face. We look to God's word for encouragement and direction. We are excited to share what God has in store for you and how much He loves you. Come and join us for an "all God" breakfast for the spirit and soul.

Class: High School-Teacher: JD & Kari Sweeney

The High School class includes students from 9th through 12th grades. Students enjoy fellowship in a relaxed atmosphere where they discuss topics relevant to their age group and how to live Spirit lead lives. All high school students are invited to attend.
